Learning Aids:-Pen, copy, Black Board, Marker, Sharpner, Rubber etc.
Poem
Count your gardens by your flowers,
Never by the leaves that fall;
Count your days by golden hours
Never see the clouds at all.
Count your nights by stars not shadows,
Count your days by smiles, not tears;
And at each succeeding birthday,
Count your age by friends not years.
SUMMARY:- The first two lines of the poem are about the family. Here the poet want to say that we are as the flowers in the garden and our elders are trees having many branches, means that they have children. And when they die, their children manages future. So we should think about them not those who died.
In second and third line poet says that our time is very precious and every hour is golden. It means that, if you are missing it, you are missing the gold. And never look at the things which interrupt your way. Never mind them, as clouds do when we are working.
In forth and fifth line poet want to encourage us by saying that, the stars shine and shadows are visible only when there is some light so we should not keep threat in hearts. Shadow is nothing but our reflected image in the light. And we should keep smiling ever. And we should not express our hard days as people do not appreciate, but tease you from time to time.
At last poet want to say that we should not think that, this is my birthday, and I got success in being thirty or forty years old. Look at your friends whose birthday has been subtracted from their age.
